A Grave Marker consists of one piece of granite. They come in three basic shapes. Slant Markers stand up with the face of the marker slanted back at a roughly 75 degree angle. Generally slant markers are between 14" and 20" in height. They vary in width depending on weather they mark one, two or more graves.
Bevel Markers sit above ground but must be read looking down on the marker. The engraving is on the top of the marker which has a slight bevel. They are generally 6" to 12" in thickness at the back of the marker and 4" to 10" in the front giving the marker a 2" bevel front to back. Flat or Flush Markers can be placed above ground or flush to the ground. Some cemeteries require that markers be flush to the ground for ease of lawn care. Flush markers usually have a uniform 4" thickness. Again, the length and width vary depending on the number of graves marked, cemetery regulations and personal preference. Be sure to check with your cemetery regarding restrictions to grave marker styles, sizes and granite types.
